A small team of 3 competitors attended the National Secondary Schools championships in Tauranga with Peter Dacombe winning a bronze medal in the under 66kg division.
Kapiti Judo Club Chocolate Fish Day
The mat was full with 46 judoka fighting and testing their skills against other judoka on Sunday.
Three fighting areas going at once kept the action going for all the parents, friends and grandparents on the side.
Many surprised the coaches, referees and club mates with the throws, holds and senkeiwaza they did.
Fun was had by all!

Secondary School Championship 18th July - Tauranga
A keen 7 member team went up from the Kapiti Judo Club. Four representing Kapiti College and three representing Paraparaumu College. Competition was fierce in both girls and boys divisions. Liam Jones won silver in the under 45Kg and Matthew Whitton achieved bronze in the under 73Kg. All members competed well!
WELLINGTON AREA INVITATION OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS
Sunday 16 th May was an all action day with contestants from as far north as Auckland, south as Christchurch, west as New Plymouth and east as Gisborne. Kapiti entrants all sweated hard, fighting the opposition with judoka trying their new techniques out.
First time competition entrants did very well competing against higher grades.Our thirteen entrants came home proudly with 8 medals.
Everyone was pleased with their result.
New home for club confirmed!
16/12/2006: A new home for the Kapiti Judo Club has been confirmed for the start of 2007! A new era is about to dawn for judo on the Kapiti Coast. More news soon...
